When the land for a parish was purchased in Dabra in the early 1990's the place itself was seemingly useless because of rocks. Then with the permission of authorities we started breaking the rocks and clearing the land. As the land was being levelled and school building construction was going on, Mr. Chouhan, a devotee and an aid to the then parish priest, Fr. Lawrence, suggested that a grotto can be built there as plenty of rocks were available. Thus a grotto was built, and then to the astonishment of Fr. Lawrence, a man brought the statue of Infant Jesus from Chennai. The devotion to Infant Jesus started as an bhandara. The people of nearby parishes were invited and people started coming in large numbers. The feast continued to happen every year and the number of devotees started to increase. The diocese of Gwalior was formed in 1999. Every Thursday the novena to Infant Jesus was being prayed. Fr. Joseph Chakkalakkal, a priest of the diocese who was appointed as the parish priest in Dabra carried out the development works of the shrine, the shrine on the top of the hill was constructed, a grassy walkway to the shrine with stations of the way of cross were built. A grotto of Mother Mary was beneath the hill. Beside the annual devotion, people started to come for praying at the shrine daily. Daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament to pray for the intercessory needs of the devotees was also started from 2020. The Infant Jesus Portal, a high gate to the shrine was blessed in 2021.
